What is this?
Years ago, Tom had a book made for his mother containing letters from her children — heartfelt messages full of memories, wisdom, and love that captured what she meant to each of them.
That book served as a tangible reminder of the love others had for her, even if they weren’t able to be physically present, and naturally, she cherished it.
Inspired by that idea, we’re hoping to do something similar. Across the years, on their own and together, Tom and Judy have put tremendous amounts of love into the world and changed so many of our lives for the better. While we try to convey that impact and gratitude, there are some things that can never be said too many times.
The “Years of Loving” project goes a bit beyond the scope of the original book, though. In addition to letters from Tom and Judy’s family, we’re also opening things up to others who have been touched by their relationships with these incredible people. While the printed books — one for each of them — will contain letters from close family, we welcome submissions from anyone who has had a meaningful relationship with them and would like to share that love. All of those letters and stories will also be organized and shared with them in a digital format, ensuring that they have no shortage of reminders of all the good they have done with their lives.
The forms will remain open until July 15, 2026. Then, the letters will be organized and formatted to be given to them at Christmas.
How do I share my letter?
There are two forms on this page: one for Tom, and one for Judy. You can type your letter directly into the form, or write it elsewhere and paste it in.
When is the deadline?
We ask that you share your final letters by July 15, 2026 to ensure that we have time to get everything organized, formatted, assembled, printed, and delivered before Christmas.
Can I include pictures?
If you have photos you’d like to share, we’re certain they’d both love to see them. Depending on printing options for the book, they may not be included in the physical copy, but we’ll make sure all photos get to them in a way they can enjoy at their leisure.
Please note, only image files (e.g. .jpg, .png) may be attached to the form, and they must be <20MB in size. There is a maximum of five images with each submission.
Do I have to submit a letter for both of them?
No — we understand that there are many who have only gotten to know Tom or Judy individually. Those relationships are no less special.
Can I submit more than one letter?
We ask that you only share one letter per recipient. You don’t have to write it all in one sitting; you can write it in another program and paste it into the form once you’re ready, or you can save the form and come back to it.
What if I need to add or change something?
Get in touch before July 15.
Can I share this with other people?
Surely! We just ask that you don’t tell Tom and Judy.
Who’s putting this together?
Between the two of them, Tom and Judy have quite the collection of kids and grandkids. A couple of them have experience with projects like this and have decided to put that knowledge to use in the best way they can imagine.
Do I have to pay anything?
Absolutely not. The only contributions we’re asking for are the letters themselves.
